Hatha yoga is an ancient system of self-healing.
Its philosophy and practice have been passed down from one generation to the next for
thousands of years.
Born and raised in Rishikesh I had the privilege of learning yoga and its philosophy from some of the best teachers in northern
India, to whom the ancient knowledge was passed on.
In my lessons, we focus not only on the physical, but on the mental,
emotional and spiritual as well.
Nowadays many people are practicing ‘feel good yoga’,
which isn’t yoga at all but just physical exercise.
Yoga is the sacred art of finding yourself.
Hatha yoga was designed to take you out of your comfort zone
and show you what is really going on inside yourself.
In these stressful times, we often get stuck in our pain and frustrations.
Yoga will help you to bring your problems to the surface so that you can gain
insight and heal yourself step by step. That is the purpose of hatha yoga.
Besides a yoga teacher and therapist,
I also earned a doctorate in "Natural Therapeutics" in India. I have always felt a deep connection to nature,
and
I spent a year living and meditating in the forest. After this deep and
profound experience I studied naturopathy at the famous school of natural
therapeutics Arogyadham in Gorakhphur.
This ancient system of healing works
with the five elements of nature: earth, water, fire, air and ether. Modern
medicine usually treats the symptoms and not the cause.
Naturopathic treatment, combined with yoga and a healthy diet and lifestyle, aims to
remove the cause of the problem, root and all. It helps you to reconnect to
Mother Nature and the circle of life, and to find a mind-body-soul balance.
In ancient times this was called “yog chikitsa”, meaning fully balanced. I
can treat a range of disorders like sinus and digestive problems, fatigue,
headaches and asthma.
Since 2006 I have been teaching yoga, training yoga teachers and giving naturopathic treatments in many countries across the world.
